WARNING DELICATE ELECTRICS / ELECTRONICS
Beware of STATIC ELECTRICITY on HANDS
& TOOLS
HANDLE ALL ITEMS WITH
EXTREME CARE
DCC, ELECTRICAL and ELECTRONIC
COMPONENT HANDLING
These COMPONENTS contain delicate electrics / electronic components.
Please read the installation instructions very carefully – Several times.
If in any doubt please contact your Local
Electronics Expert.
Ensure that you use the correct power
supply.
Incorrect installation will cause
instant failure and possible short circuiting.
SOME WIRES
ARE VERY DELICATE AND ARE FINE BEING COATED WITH INSULATION THAT WILL CRACK AND
FRACTURE IF BENT, TWISTED OR MISHANDLED IN ANY WAY - THIS WILL CAUSE A SHORT
CIRCUIT & PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT AND OTHER ITEMS WITHIN THE
CIRCUIT. ANY COILED WIRES MUST BE UNCOILED VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLATION
TO AVOID DAMEGE TO THE INSULATION – PULLING WILL CAUSE TWISTING AND FRACUTUE.
DO NOT USE ANY METAL OBJECT TO UNCOIL THE FINE WIRES !!!!
STATIC
ELECTRICITY
Static
electricity refers to the build up of electric charge
on the surface of objects. The static charges remain on an object until they
either bleed off to ground or are quickly neutralized by a
discharge.
Although
charge exchange can happen whenever any two surfaces come into contact and
separate, a static charge will only remain when at least one of the surfaces
has a high resistance to electrical flow (an electrical insulator).
The
effects of static electricity are familiar to most people because we can see,
feel and even hear the spark as the excess charge is neutralized when brought
close to a large electrical conductor (for example a path to
ground), or a region with an excess charge of the opposite polarity (positive
or negative). The familiar phenomenon of a static 'shock' is caused by the
neutralization of charge.
Static electricity can reside in
people, clothing or tools etc.
The static
electricity must be discharged to EARTH before handling any delicate electronic
components or computer components.
Use of
Magnetic tools OR METAL OBJECTS should be avoided at all times.

HANDLING CIRCUIT BOARDS – DO NOT TOUCH THE UPPER OR LOWER FACES
OF A CIRCUIT BOARD – FINGERS AND TOOLS CONTAIN STATIC ELECTRICITY WHICH WILL
BLOW THE COMPONEBTS AND THEY WILL NOT WORK.
HOLD BY THE OUTER EDGES AWAY FROM ANY ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS.
A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT IS REQUIRED.
Before commencing any
wiring you must decide on a wiring colour code for your layout
If you do not you will
get into a right mess !!! DON’T MIX
COLOURS across the layout !!

There are many different
power supplies available within the Model Industry.
Please read all the
manufacturers instructions before attempting to connect any power supply to an
electrical device.
Using an incorrect power
supply may damage the product – It may work initially but may burn out due to
incorrect voltage or amperage being used.
There are supplies that
are DC or AC. The correct one must
be used.
Some products call for
the use of Diodes and or Resistors and or
Regulators and or Controllers.
THE CORRECT SUPPLY MUST
BE USED AT
