HOW TO
There are a number of basic steps that you need to commence building your model railway
1. YOU NEED TO MEASURE THE MAXIMUM SPACE/SIZE THAT YOU HAVE AVAILBE FOR YOUR LAYOUT.
2. THEN CONSIDER HOW MANY LAYERS OF TRACK / BUILDINGS THAT YOU INTEND TO EMPLOY.
3. EXAMINE A SELECTION OF TRACK PLANS PUBLISHED BY YOUR TRAIN SET MANUFACTURER. i.e HORNBY
4. DECIDE IF YOUR LAYOUT IS GOING TO BE MOVABLE OR FIXED PERMANTLY TO A WALL etc
5. Construct a base board to suit your space available in conjunction with your decided track plan.
6. Make sure that your base board is supported with strong legs – you might have to stand on it if it is large.
7. Thing about electric power supply points and ensure that all wiring is safe and sound.
8. Control to your train sets – Anologue or Digital power controller ?? See terminology on website.
9. Materials available, timber, worktop (Strong but not to thick as you will have to drill holes for electrics etc.
